Refund policy

every blur society piece is made to order — printed, packed, and shipped only after you buy. this keeps inventory tight and waste low, but it changes how we handle returns. read this carefully before ordering.
the short version
- defective, damaged, or wrong item shipped: full refund or replacement, on us
- size exchange (you ordered the wrong size): allowed within 30 days, return shipping is on you
- everything else (change of mind, didn't like it, gift returns): final sale
we don't accept returns for "change of mind" because each piece is made for you specifically — there's no warehouse to send it back to. if you're unsure about size or fit, use our size guide before ordering, or email support@blursociety.com and we'll help you pick.
defective, damaged, or wrong item
inspect your order the day it arrives. if anything is wrong — torn fabric, broken stitching, faded print, missing decoration, the wrong size or color shipped — email support@blursociety.com within 7 days of delivery with:
- your order number (format: BS-0000-0000)
- clear photos of the defect or issue
- a photo of the shipping label or outer packaging if it was damaged in transit
within 24–48 business hours we'll respond with one of:
- a replacement item shipped free of charge
- a full refund to your original payment method
- store credit equal to the order value (your choice)
you keep the defective piece — we don't ask you to ship it back unless we specifically need it for our records with the print provider.
size exchanges
if you ordered the wrong size, we can exchange it within 30 days of delivery under these conditions:
- item is unworn, unwashed, and untouched with all original tags still attached
- item is in its original packaging
- you provide your order number and the size you want instead
how the exchange works:
- email support@blursociety.com within 30 days with your order number and desired size
- we send a return shipping label — a $8 flat fee will be deducted from your refund to cover return shipping
- you ship the original piece back within 14 days of receiving the label
- once we confirm the item is in resaleable condition, we'll place a new order for the size you want (we do not directly swap, since each piece is made fresh per order)
- the new size ships at no extra cost
total exchange turnaround: roughly 3–4 weeks from request to receiving your new size.
if the item comes back showing signs of wear, deodorant marks, cologne, pet hair, or any soiling, we can't process the exchange and will ship the item back to you at your cost.
what is final sale
unless your item is defective or you're requesting a size exchange, all sales are final. this includes:
- change of mind
- didn't like the print, fit, or feel
- received as a gift and don't want it
- items purchased on sale or with a discount code
- archived drops from past collections
- items marked "final sale" on the product page
this is because each piece is made to order at the time you buy. we don't hold inventory — there is no shelf to put returns back on. if we accept change-of-mind returns, we either destroy the piece or absorb the loss, and neither is sustainable at our scale.
gift exchanges
if you received a blur society piece as a gift in the wrong size:
- email support@blursociety.com with the original order number (ask whoever gave it to you)
- we can process a size exchange under the same conditions above
- the new piece ships to whichever address you provide
- if you'd prefer store credit instead of an exchange, we can issue it in your name (subject to the $8 deduction)
why this policy exists
we're a made-to-order brand. that means:
- nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be shipped
- no piece is produced until you order it
- waste is minimized
- you get a fresh piece every time
the trade-off is we can't run the kind of "free returns, no questions asked" policy that warehouse-based brands offer. we believe trading slightly stricter returns for less waste and tighter quality is the right call. if you disagree, that's fair — please buy from a brand whose model fits your expectations.
refunds
once we receive a defective-item return or an approved size exchange request:
- we inspect within 3 business days of delivery to us
- refunds are issued to your original payment method
- you'll see it within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank
- original shipping costs are non-refundable unless we shipped the wrong item
if more than 15 business days have passed since we emailed you confirming the refund and you don't see it on your statement, email support@blursociety.com with your order number.
damaged in transit
if your package arrives crushed, soaked, or torn open, photograph the outer package before opening, then photograph the contents. send everything to support@blursociety.com within 7 days of delivery. we'll work directly with the carrier and replace your order.
if the carrier marks your package as "delivered" but you don't have it:
- check around the property and ask neighbors
- wait 24 hours — carriers occasionally scan early
- file a claim with the carrier directly (they have delivery evidence, not us)
- email us — we'll help you escalate
we cannot automatically refund or replace packages the carrier confirms as delivered. if the carrier formally declares the package lost in transit, we will replace it.
not returnable, ever
- gift cards — non-refundable
- items marked "final sale" or "archived drop" on the product page
- items returned without prior authorization — packages sent to us without first emailing for a return label will be refused

each blur society piece is made to order. that means production happens after you buy, then it ships. this takes longer than warehouse-based brands but means tighter quality and zero waste from unsold inventory.
where we ship
we ship to the united states and canada only. no exceptions. orders placed from outside us/ca will be refunded automatically within 3 business days.
how long it takes
your order goes through two stages: production (your piece is made) then shipping (it travels to you). here's the breakdown:

total time from order to delivery:
- canada: roughly 5–13 business days
- united states: roughly 7–17 business days
these are estimates. weather, carrier delays, and customs holds happen. we don't refund shipping for late deliveries unless the carrier declares the package lost.
we'll send two emails after you order:
- order confirmation — immediately, with your order number
- shipped notification — when production is done and the carrier has your package, with tracking
items may ship separately
we work with multiple production partners depending on the product (t-shirts, hats, and tote bags are sometimes made in different facilities). if you order more than one type of item, they may ship in separate packages with separate tracking and may arrive on different days.
you'll only ever be charged for one shipment per order — we cover any additional fulfillment cost on multi-package orders.
shipping rates
we ship with carriers that depend on your destination and the production facility your piece is made at. you'll see the final shipping cost at checkout.

express shipping is not available — production time is longer than carrier transit time, so paying for faster shipping wouldn't significantly reduce your total wait.
carriers
we use carriers including canada post, ups, usps, and dhl ecommerce depending on the destination and production facility. you'll see the carrier name in your shipping confirmation email.
tracking
every shipment includes tracking. once your label is created, you'll receive an email with a tracking link. tracking sometimes takes 12–24 hours to register the first scan — that's normal. if there's no movement after 72 hours, email support@blursociety.com.
duties and taxes (us orders)
canada-to-us shipments under $800 usd typically clear customs without duty under us de minimis rules. apparel and accessories at our price points should not generate import fees.
if a duty or fee is ever charged at your door by the carrier, save the receipt and email us — we'll review it case by case.
address changes
if you entered the wrong address, email support@blursociety.com within 1 hour of placing your order. after that window the order has already started production and we cannot change anything — including address.
if a package ships to the wrong address because of an error on your end, we cannot replace or refund it. double-check your shipping info before submitting.
lost or stolen packages
if your tracking says "delivered" but you don't have it:
- check around the property — porches, side doors, neighbors, mail rooms
- wait 24 hours — carriers occasionally scan early
- file a claim with the carrier directly
- email support@blursociety.com — we'll help you escalate
we cannot automatically refund or replace packages the carrier confirms as delivered. if the carrier formally declares the package lost in transit, we'll replace your order.
delays during high-volume periods
during drops, holidays, and major sale windows, production can extend to 7–10 business days and shipping queues can lengthen. we'll post a banner site-wide when this is happening. we'd rather be honest than have you refresh tracking.
undeliverable packages
if a package is returned to us as undeliverable (wrong address, refused, no one to receive after multiple attempts), we'll either:
- attempt to re-ship at your cost ($14 us / $9 ca), or
- refund the order minus the original shipping cost and a $5 return-handling fee
you choose.
about made-to-order
your piece doesn't exist until you order it. then it's printed, packed, inspected, and shipped. it takes longer than warehouse-based brands. we know. we think the trade-off — no overproduction, no landfill, fresh garment every time — is worth it. if you need something faster than this, you're probably better off with a brand that holds inventory.
